More Safari...

We saw over 50 Impalas in small groups.  They are antelopes with beautiful curved horns.
Then we saw 6 big hippos floating (we could only see the tops of their heads).  By the time we got to our Camp we were exhausted.  However, we signed up for the night drive with a guide from 8:00 to 11:00 that night.

There were about 10 people on our night drive.  It was from 8:00 to 10:30 pm, so it was too dark for photos.  We rode in 4 wheel drive big jeep type vehicles with a roof, but no sides.  We saw more antelopes, 2 Rhinos, an Elephant, a cheetah and then the hugest Rhino you can imagine, sleeping on the side of a pond.  There were several other small animals.  I think the highlight of the night for me was a giraffe, that stood proud and tall and looked at us.  Then he turned to the side and ran across the area in the most graceful stride I have ever seen!  We fell into bed after 11:00 pm.

On our morning drive there were only 6 of us.  We left at 4:15 am while it was dark.  We got to see the sunrise, which is when many animals start looking for food and animal.   We saw 2 more giraffes together, some elephants, a water buffalo and antelopes.  We saw a single giraffe, and through binoculars we could see him chewing.  So fun!  However, the highlight of the morning drive was turning the corner and seeing a small herd of zebras, with all sizes of zebras, just as the sun was coming up.  It was beautiful!
