“Bishop Julien’s" Ward

We recently attended another one of our student’s “out-lying area” ward.  His name is Julien and he is the bishop.

We first went on Friday to find out where the chapel was located.  It took about 90 minutes to get there.   (We had traded our truck into the office, to have the maintenance done and we were given a temporary fancy truck, without 4 wheel drive. )   The roads were so bad that we couldn’t get into the neighborhood without our 4 wheel drive.  We finally just dropped Bishop Julian off to walk into his home, and said we would come back on Sunday in our own car… and ask directions from the neighborhood.

When we arrived at the chapel on Sunday, we were the only car.  We were tickled with how open the facilities were.
There was a courtyard in the middle with 3 large covered areas.  One was for primary, one for priesthood and one for Relief Society.  Inside the small remodeled house/chapel, there is one large room and 2 small rooms for the young men and young women.   This is the Relief Society President.

This is the Young Men's President!  How cute is he?!

The spirit was very humble and special.  We were called up to be the opening speakers in sacrament meeting.  I had written my introduction and testimony in French, so I was able to read it ... and Ed used his interpreter, (who came just this one time.)  Ed’s testimony was very touching, as he talked about his love for the construction program and his students.

After Sacrament meeting, we went out in front and took pictures. This is Julien with his family.
Then I gathered all the children and made a big circle and we did the Hokey Pokey.  The other ward primary came out and joined us, so we had lots of kids and lots of fun!
