Baby Blanket update

Baby blankets: The baby blankets arrived and we received about 150 of them! Thank you to all of you for your time and money to make this project really happen! The maternity hospital is about a 30 minute drive over some bumpy roads, away from town, so we have to make a special trip to go that direction. We have delivered blankets 3 times now. Each time has been a very sweet experience. The mothers have been very surprised and appreciative of the gift. A few of the blankets were made out of University of Utah fabric. Ed loved the fact that both weeks that I have taken the U of U blankets in the basket, they were the first ones chosen! I have written a small “M” in the corner of each blanket, in honor of my mother, Maydene. She loved the children of Africa. She served a mission in Liberia Africa 20 years ago … and she set a high standard for me to follow. I feel as we give these blankets, lovingly made by her children and grandchildren, and their friends, that we are leaving a little of her love of the Africans with each family that receives a blanket.
